Emotions overflow, as ex-housemates depart.BBA 2014.

The housemates had been under severe
tension, believing the exes, who had
been watching their game, knew their
weaknesses and were better prepared.
Luclay added to the tension on Friday,
when he lost his cool, claiming only one
contestant was capable of beating him
to the prize money. He had showered
the housemates with insults after Biggie
asked him to wear his microphone. The
instruction triggered a primal rage that
had clearly been lying dormant inside
him, especially after his altercation with
Goitse.
He had everything to say about how the
Hotshots were way out of their depth in
the game. He said they lacked what it
took to win the prize money.
But when on Sunday, Biggie revealed to
them that the exes were just a ploy,
some of them were in tears.
Tayo could not believe his fate as he sat
down and wept. After Biggie told the
housemates to unfreeze, Goitse stayed
in her position and had tears run down
her cheeks. Idris also stayed in his chair
and did not move as he perhaps could
not believe what had happened. When
Tayo started crying, M’am Bea went
over to comfort him and soon after, she
went and wept in Ellah’s arms. Nhlanhla
joined the ladies in a group hug and
encouraged M’am Bea not to cry as
they had gone through a lot already.
The housemates did not seem at all
impressed with Biggie’s prank but were
definitely glad to have remained in the
house. Idris went to sit outside and
Ellah joined him. He did not look like he
was keen on any company but
remained calm nonetheless.
Goitse sat on her own upstairs, crying
and staring into nothingness. Idris went
up to her and held her in his arms
while she cried. The two bonded a little
as they reminisced about Feza who had
given them a talk. Downstairs,
Butterphly sat quietly, seemingly in a
sulky mood.
Housemates started thinking back to
the characters that were brought into
the house and analysing how they
strategically played them.
With only two weeks left of the Big
Brother Africa show things are bound to
still get heated up in the house.
Although there were no nominations for
possible-eviction among the
housemates last week, Biggie revealed
that all housemates are up for eviction
this Sunday.

Ebiripo: one of the best Ijebu Food

In spite of the fact that most of the Ijebu foods are tuber-related such as Ikokore, Ojojo, Ebiripo etc, the process of cooking these tuber varieties with special sauces makes them nutritionally rich and appropriate for all occasions. Ebiripo is a typical Ijebu cocoyam meal that can be cooked in various ways and spiced up to make a balanced diet. Cocoyam is purely carbohydrates and poor in other nutrients but many have now found ways to make the roots nutritious by adding soya beans while making Ebiripo. According to a study by Sowonola O. A. Et al, from the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, Oyo State, “The combination of cocoyam and soyabeans in the processing of Ebiripo will bring about nutrient complement ability”. They submitted in their findings that Ebiripo fortified with 40% soya flour was significantly 28% higher in protein and 8.4% higher in fat than the other Ebiripo samples. Ingredients needed for a Nutritious Ebiripo Cocoyam Soya beans Ground fresh P...

DSP Alamieyesiegha .

Alamieyeseigha was arrested at Heathrow Airport in September 2005 by the London Metropolitan Police on charges of money laundering in September 2005. About £1m cash was allegedly found in his London home. Another £1.8m ($3.2m) was found in his bank accounts. Rather than wait and clear his name at the trial, Alamieyeseigha escaped from London in December 2005 in a very dramatic manner. Some report had it that he disguised himself as a woman in his desperate bid to return to Nigeria. But back home, while serving him an unexpected notice of impeachment, the Bayelsa State House of Assembly accused him of offences including: *Maintaining foreign bank accounts while in office in the following banks: Barclays Bank Plc, London; National Westminster Bank, London; Royal Bank of Scotland; and Commerz Bank, London. *Corrupt enrichment of his relatives and cronies. *Criminal diversion and misappropriation of public funds to facilitate acquisition of shares in Bond Bank PLc by private p...

China Ice Festival

The event is recognized as the largest of its kind in the world. The Festival officially lasts for one month, but with winter temperatures in the city averaging a bone-chilling minus 17C, many of the sculptures remain in place for considerably longer than that. The sculptures are formed either from compacted snow, or from blocks of ice which are hauled out of the nearby Songhua River. Purified water is also used, - frozen into blocks of clear ice. Many of the sculptures are illuminated to add another dimension to the displays during the long hours of darkness at this time of the year. The Festival began in 1963 but it was only held sporadically, because of the upheaval during the Cultural Revolution. It became a regular event in 1985. In 2001 the Harbin Ice Festival was merged with the Heilongjiang International Ski Festival, to become the event we know today. In 2007, a sculpture celebrating the work of a revered Canadian doctor, Norman Bethune, was recognised ...

Angelique Kidjo: speaks on state of Africa

And with Africa facing new challenges - from Ebola to extremists opposed to girls' education - she is vocal in her criticism of Western depictions of the continent. "Do you think everybody in Africa has Ebola?" she asks on Talk to Al Jazeera. "We didn't invent Ebola. It's just a disease that exists there. Like, are we going to be blamed for inventing malaria too? If there is an Ebola outbreak in the Western world, will the media in the West treat it the same way?" She also expressed her frustration with the way Western media portray Africa as a continent steeped in violence, victimhood and corruption. "A success story in Africa doesn't interest any media," she says. "They are so eager and hungry for horrible stories from Africa. Why? It looks like the West is the hyena, feeding on the misery of the African people. They should be ashamed doing this." On the topic of terrorism, she is crushing in her criticism ...
