As Fighting Continues, Libyan Oil Production Remains Volatile

As fighting between rival government
forces in Libya continues, the
country’s oil production sharply rises
and falls. Production was reported to
be 900,000 barrels a day in
September, but that fell to about
500,000 barrels by November.
Nevertheless, there’s plenty of crude
available to meet world demand.

China Ice Festival

The event is recognized as the largest of its kind in the world. The Festival officially lasts for one month, but with winter temperatures in the city averaging a bone-chilling minus 17C, many of the sculptures remain in place for considerably longer than that. The sculptures are formed either from compacted snow, or from blocks of ice which are hauled out of the nearby Songhua River. Purified water is also used, - frozen into blocks of clear ice. Many of the sculptures are illuminated to add another dimension to the displays during the long hours of darkness at this time of the year. The Festival began in 1963 but it was only held sporadically, because of the upheaval during the Cultural Revolution. It became a regular event in 1985. In 2001 the Harbin Ice Festival was merged with the Heilongjiang International Ski Festival, to become the event we know today. Mugabe travel out of the country

Former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe has left the country to Singapore. The 93-year-old is taking his annual holidays. A section of the media also reports that he will have a routine medical checkup whiles away. It is the first time he has left the country since his resignation in November after being leader for 37 years. The entire Mugabe family including wife Grace and children Bona, Robert Junior and Chatunga are all part of the trip. The sons are said to have returned from South Africa to join the Singapore trip. The last public appearance of Mugabe was when the army allowed him to preside over a graduation ceremony in the capital Harare, days after the takeover. His wife has not made a public appearance since.

Pubic crabs: what you need to know

1 .  The name “crabs” refers to the crab-like appearance of public lice. The louse has a rounded body, six legs, some of which have claws which help it hang onto coarse pubic hair. 2. The most common symptom of crabs is itching in the pubic area. This itching is caused by an allergic reaction to the bites, and usually starts about five days after a person gets crabs. 3. Much like head lice, crabs cannot jump; they crawl from one host to another. 4. Pubic lice found on children’s eyelashes may be a sign of sexual exposure or abuse. 5.
