recent interview
on TV, KSB
explained why
she is contesting on the APC platform.
“Good luck to my family members, because right
now we all bear our names. If I had wanted to be
a member of the party that my family belongs to, I
would have done that.
In the past 10 years, APC has been very
supportive towards my development financially,
and also, to my children’s development. Senator
Remi Tinubu stood by me and she didn’t even
stop helping me.
During my album launch, she sent First Lady of
Lagos State, Dame Abimbola Fashola to represent
her,” she stated.

Lion blindsided by crocodile in river escapes

Lions might be the kings of the jungle, but crocodiles rule the river. At least most of the time. That wasn’t the case in a video shared by Kruger Sightings the other day. It shows a young lion crossing a river and getting blindsided by a crocodile. A woman in the background can be heard saying, “Oh my God; oh my God,” just before the inevitable. But it has a happy ending: A happy ending for the lion, that is. The crocodile’s next meal would have to wait. Obasanjo tells youths, Fight for Nigeria’s survival.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has told youths to take up the responsibility and effect the needed change in Nigeria instead of blaming the previous generations for the nation’s decay. The former President said this at the 100th-year anniversary of Ijero Baptist Church in Lagos on Sunday. Obasanjo said the generation before him fought for Nigeria’s independence while his generation fought for Nigeria’s unity during the civil war. He said the subsequent generation also fought for democracy. Obasanjo, therefore, said it was time for the next generation to make its own contribution to national development instead of complaining. China Ice Festival

The event is recognized as the largest of its kind in the world. The Festival officially lasts for one month, but with winter temperatures in the city averaging a bone-chilling minus 17C, many of the sculptures remain in place for considerably longer than that. The sculptures are formed either from compacted snow, or from blocks of ice which are hauled out of the nearby Songhua River. Purified water is also used, - frozen into blocks of clear ice. Many of the sculptures are illuminated to add another dimension to the displays during the long hours of darkness at this time of the year. The Festival began in 1963 but it was only held sporadically, because of the upheaval during the Cultural Revolution. It became a regular event in 1985. In 2001 the Harbin Ice Festival was merged with the Heilongjiang International Ski Festival, to become the event we know today. And with Africa facing new challenges - from Ebola to extremists opposed to girls' education - she is vocal in her criticism of Western depictions of the continent.
