Ebonyi House of Assembly, Blaise Orji was allegedly assaulted by political thugs

The Deputy Speaker of the
Ebonyi House of Assembly, Blaise Orji
was allegedly assaulted by political
thugs that invaded the assembly
complex on Monday, Vanguard reports.
The hoodlums were said to have beaten
up and denied the deputy speaker and
some other key members of the House
including House leader, Sam Nwali,
Chief Whip, Kingsley Ikoro and nine
others,  belonging to a faction of the
House from gaining access into the
assembly complex.
State Commissioner of Police, Maigari
Dikko, who arrived the scene with
reinforcement of policemen, ordered the
arrest the hoodlums, and whisked them
away in hilux vans to the state police
command.
The Speaker, Nwazunku, Frank, denied
that the affected lawmakers were not
invited for the sitting and that they were
denied access to the assembly.

The Nigerian new colonial state cannot afford to scrap SARS, it is not possible. We have an increasing wave of armed robbery, kidnapping terrorism and other serious violent crimes which the regular police personnel have not been trained to curb or combat, therefore we are going to have SARS but it has to be totally overhauled. Nigerians protesting against SARS saying any demonstration by Nigerian against perceived injustice should be encouraged but the protesters must also be made to appreciate that the law has taken care of all their concerns and fears. Mugabe travel out of the country

Former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe has left the country to Singapore. The 93-year-old is taking his annual holidays. A section of the media also reports that he will have a routine medical checkup whiles away. It is the first time he has left the country since his resignation in November after being leader for 37 years. The entire Mugabe family including wife Grace and children Bona, Robert Junior and Chatunga are all part of the trip. The sons are said to have returned from South Africa to join the Singapore trip. The last public appearance of Mugabe was when the army allowed him to preside over a graduation ceremony in the capital Harare, days after the takeover. His wife has not made a public appearance since.
