Lion blindsided by crocodile in river escapes

Lions might be the kings of the jungle, but crocodiles rule the river. At least most of the time. That wasn’t the case in a video shared by Kruger Sightings the other day. It shows a young lion crossing a river and getting blindsided by a crocodile. A woman in the background can be heard saying, “Oh my God; oh my God,” just before the inevitable. But it has a happy ending: A happy ending for the lion, that is. The crocodile’s next meal would have to wait. The footage was captured by a tourist while standing on the H10 bridge near the Lower Sabie River in the Kruger National Park in South Africa. “All we can say is, lions should always look both [ways] before crossing the river,” Kruger Sightings said on Facebook

China Ice Festival

The event is recognized as the largest of its kind in the world. The Festival officially lasts for one month, but with winter temperatures in the city averaging a bone-chilling minus 17C, many of the sculptures remain in place for considerably longer than that. The sculptures are formed either from compacted snow, or from blocks of ice which are hauled out of the nearby Songhua River. Purified water is also used, - frozen into blocks of clear ice. Many of the sculptures are illuminated to add another dimension to the displays during the long hours of darkness at this time of the year. Google has officially brought YouTube Go - an offline-first app for viewers in developing countries where data connections are costly and slow - out of beta in India. At the same time, the video giant is rolling the app out to several additional countries throughout Southeast Asia and Africa. YouTube Go, which enables viewers to download videos in lower qualities and send copies to friend via Bluetooth, has been modified to more closely match the flagship YouTube app as it leaves beta, per AndroidPolice. The app was first announced for the Indian market back in September 2016, and launched in beta the following February. After bowing in both Nigeria and Indonesia earlier this year, Mashable reports that YouTube Go has now become available in beta across a slew of other countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. Ebiripo: one of the best Ijebu Food

In spite of the fact that most of the Ijebu foods are tuber-related such as Ikokore, Ojojo, Ebiripo etc, the process of cooking these tuber varieties with special sauces makes them nutritionally rich and appropriate for all occasions. Ebiripo is a typical Ijebu cocoyam meal that can be cooked in various ways and spiced up to make a balanced diet. Cocoyam is purely carbohydrates and poor in other nutrients but many have now found ways to make the roots nutritious by adding soya beans while making Ebiripo. According to a study by Sowonola O. A.
