Vaginal Discharge Is It Normal?

"Vaginal discharge and cervical mucous sort of act like the oil between gears in a machine, keeping the vagina working properly, the normal pH balance of bacteria in a good place, and helping lubricate during intercourse," Basically, vaginal discharge keeps your vagina happy and healthy.

However, if you suddenly notice a lot more vaginal discharge in your underwear, it's a sign that something might be going on down there. Exactly what that is might be as benign as your monthly cycle, having recently given birth, or undergoing some form of hormonal therapy, Or it could be more problematic-for example, vaginal and yeast infections can lead to a sudden uptick in vaginal discharge. Generally, thick, white vaginal discharge with a cottage-cheese-like texture or fishy smell is a sign that you want to visit your gyno just to be safe.

To help prevent vaginal and yeast infections,  "absolutely no douching or placing antibacterial soaps in the vagina." Remember, a happy vagina depends on plenty of healthy bacteria in the vagina, and flushing out or killing that bacteria can allow bacterial intruders to make their way in. Taking a daily probiotic can also help to keep those healthy bacteria levels up. "Maintaining a well-balanced diet and showering immediately after sex and that sweaty spin class can also help." If you feel the need to use soap down there, use a gentle formula like Sliquid Organics Splash Balance Gentle Feminine Wash from the Women's Health Boutique.

Ikokore : An Ijebu Food

Ifokore, is a Yam Pottage dish made with Water Yam  not White Yam. It is a pottage recipe from the Ijebu people of Ogun state and ijebu from Lagos state , Nigeria. I’m yet to come across an Ijebu person who doesn’t love Ikokore,  Ikokore remains a staple in an ijebu household. To really enjoy Ikokore, you’ll need to incorporate as much proteins as you possibly can to enrich it. Your best bets are Shaki, ( intestine ) Ponmo, Chicken, Goat meat, Gizzard, Smoked Turkey, Smoked Fish, Panla, Eja Kika, the more the merrier. The authentic Ikokore recipe requires no blended pepper, it calls for just Scotch Bonnet (Ata rodo) and in some cases, dry ground pepper but I’m not too keen on hot and spicy dishes so I settle for Shombo. Ingredients: A Tuber of Water yam 3 Cooking spoons Palm Oil 4 Cups Chicken or Beef Stock/ Water #100 Shombo/Tatashe or 4Tablespoons dry ground pepper #50 Scotch Bonnet (ata Rodo) Smoked Fish (Eja Kika) or Shawa (Bonga fish)Shredd...

Keere. Great Balogun of Ipara of all time.

After the demise of Oguola, there were many men of valour in Ipara and mention must be made of Balogun Keere, alias Ogbo ri Olori ka ri. Keere was a great warrior during the Yoruba internecine wars. He participated in the Ijaiye war, the Owiwi war, and the Egba wars with Remo people. He was not just an ordinary warrior. He had affinity for wars and this made him to be hired by other neighbouring Yoruba towns like Ibadan, Oyo, Ijesa etc. to help in their various internecine wars. Keere was so powerful in Juju that if he was beheaded in the battle, he would pick whichever head near him and put it where his own head was severed. After the battle he would look for his own original head and replaced it. This was why he was called “O GB’ ORI OLORI KA RI” meaning, someone who puts another man’s head on his neck. Keere had the power to command the mother-earth to open up, create a vacuum, and in this vacuum he would ask the Ipara people to enter for protection from attackers. (The people went ...
