BOLA TINUBU POLITICAL SAGACITY

On this Jagaban issue, every 4 years people come on social media to yell and castigate the man over his political decisions. There are over 18m people in Lagos, over 1000 politicians yet they cannot unseat him. Is this his fault? Are you expecting him to raise his legs and say "hi guys come and screw me over". He left the AD, formed the AC then ACN, Afenifere, Obasanjo could not unseat him. He lost two deputy governors, Kofo Bucknor and Femi Pedro to the opposition party, Lost Obanikoro, a man he single handedly made a senator to PDP, he lost Jimi Agbaje a close ally also to the PDP. They tried to unseat him, they failed. Obasanjo and GEJ tried, they didn't succeed. Lagos state had the Minister for works, Ogunlewe, PDP BOT chairman - Bode George, Minister for Defence - Obanikoro, Olusegun Aganga - Trade and Investment but while these notable men go to bed at night, Jagaban stays awake scheming and planning his next move at Bourdillon, rallying the grassroot and then he comes with either the stick or the carrot. Obanikoro his sworn enemy is back, Pedro is back, Salvador former PDP chairman is back to his camp. He did not put a gun to anybody's head to wine and dine with him. Why can't they form an alliance to finish him off? We have a choice not to associate with him don't we ? He has successfully built a battalion of loyalists from 1999 till date. From Fashola to the councilor in the smallest ward in Lagos. Fashola, Osinbajo, Fowler, Lai Mohammed, Ben Akabueze, Ojudu, Ade Ipaye, Rauf, Hamzat, GOS, Gbajabiamila, Faleke, Yayi, Ashafa, Opeifa, Tunji Bello, Leke pitan, Jide Idris, Dele Alake, Mamora and a whole lot of other young brilliant minds. For every one person he empowered, he got thousands more in return. He identifies the best and use them to his advantage. Can Bode George or Ogunlewe roll out a list comparable to Tinubu's list? Why haven't they been able to create a formidable opposition to kick him out? They had the federal might for 16 years to their advantage. To be honest, is he at fault? What do we expect him to do? Crawl under his duvet at Bourdillon or watch African Magic? Why can't other politicians form a concesus? He is the Lion of Bourdillon and when he roars, his lionesses and cubs will respond. Unless a stronger pride emerges, he will continue to rule this jungle. It is the law of nature, sentiments dont matter. He is already scheming for 2023, 4 years ahead of these docile politicians. Meanwhile there is still room to challenge him, please go ahead and vote against his candidate if you feel aggrieved.

SARS is military Lagacy. Falana

The Nigerian new colonial state cannot afford to scrap SARS, it is not possible. We have an increasing wave of armed robbery, kidnapping terrorism and other serious violent crimes which the regular police personnel have not been trained to curb or combat, therefore we are going to have SARS but it has to be totally overhauled. Nigerians protesting against SARS saying any demonstration by Nigerian against perceived injustice should be encouraged but the protesters must also be made to appreciate that the law has taken care of all their concerns and fears. What we are therefore required to do is to ensure that the laws are enforced which has made it illegal to detain a Nigerian without taking him to the court in a place like Lagos or in the rural areas beyond 48hours. NIGERIAN LAW AND THE MARRIAGE.

The new Child rights Legislations stipulate that having carnal knowledge (sex) of a child below the age of 18 is a crime in twenty – four (24) States of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory. So would it mean that the age of consent is 18 in those States and the Federal Capital?  Not so. For this purpose, Akwa Ibom and Kwara States specify 16years, whilst Jigawa State specifies 15 years. The traditional marriage systems stipulate generally the age of 12 – 14 years for girls. In some parts of Nigeria, the age is as low as 10 but there are other constraints which prevent consummation of the marriage even if the girl, her parents and the spouse’s parents have agreed. Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole ShareThis Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole was born on April 4, 1952 in Iyamoh, near Auchi in today's Edo State. He was born into the humble family of Alhaji Aliyu Oshiomhole of blessed memory and Alhaja Aishetu Oshiomhole. After his secondary education, Adams Oshiomhole proceeded to the Ruskin College, Oxford where he majored in economics and industrial relations.
